What do you think of these Oxfords by Cheaney?

Gentlemen,

What do you think of these Oxford Captoes made by Cheaney in size 9UK? Is 150 Euros considered a good deal? They are apparently brand new without any blemishes. It is my first time buying a Cheaney and I have no clue about their prices. I checked their website but could not find this exact pair...

I just don’t think the color would work for me. It’s too light in color.
It’s a cap toe balmoral so appropriate more with a suit, but the color disqualifies it for that purpose.
Otherwise, it’s a nice shoe and a good price.

Easily recoloured dark brown or black and otherwise a very nice shoe.

I agree that the colour does not seem right for the type of shoe but I think the price is very good.

I have recently purchased a number of pairs of Cheaney shoes in their sale paying approx £250 each so the price is very good
I’m really pleased with the quality and sizing is true to size a UK 10
The colour is not my choice but other than that you can’t go wrong.....enjoy them

Have them professionally dyed a darker brown or cognac

Yeah I had some doubts about the color but they are on their way to me now. I first thought of wearing them with a blue suit. But if that were to seem out of place then I will have to dye them.

As for dying in general, I have dyed several shoes with Angelus leather dye. It was a pain ********** but in the end I was pleased with the result. However, I only have tried the Angelus dark brown and jet black dye. I think if one wants a lighter shade they should source out the project to a professional for a consistent result.

I'm not crazy about the colour either, but ya know, on a summer day with a lighter blue suit they're not going to stand out in a bad way.

+1

Also, if those are just a pair to add to your repertoire, nothing wrong with them.

Gents, I received the Cheaney Oxfords. Much to my disappointment, the finish was a nasty shade of yellow which I had not seen on dress shoes before. The pictures I had posted were therefore very deceiving. I contacted the seller and eventually exchanged them with a much nicer pair of Cheaney single strap monks in tan finish. See enclosed photos of the monks.

Much better indeed!
