What do you think of these Maglis?

Had this posted in the "cool shoes . . " thread. Perhaps a little obscure so I am posting a new thread. EL72 already suggested that perhaps some may argue that C&Js may be a better deal at $400 from plal. Thanks EL72. My question is more absolute I guess, Should I keep these? They fit remarkable well, perhaps just as well as the handgrades I tried on at the C&J at T&A store in the city a couple of weeks back!

Was at the NMLC store this weekend and saw this one pair of Platinum Maglis.

They were marked at $420 but with additional discount I ended up paying approx $340. Almost passed them up because they were stacked in the 8.5 rack. I figured I would take them, check the price on the web (cheapest I saw was $402) and get fora members' opinion.

Yes they are no JLs or EGs but I think they are a nice pair and actually looks a little better in flesh:

I am interested in your thoughts. "Thumbs up and keep" or "down and return before the 30 day period lapses"?

I hope you are correct that NMLC has a 30 day return policy!

All other things being equal (value for money, construction for money ratios etc) I think it's a reasonably nice shoe.

For my taste, there's too much piecework. I have several pairs of Magli shoes. They fit me quite well.

They gotta be smoking something to put $675 retail price on these. Return them and never look back.

As someone else who doesn't like the idea of shopping on ebay, or not buying something that's brand new, I still think you could likely do better on price. I don't love them, but if you do, that's all that matters.

Not a fan.

Have Franco's put together a Martegani for you for that price. Or find some Tramezzas on Ebay... or...
