The shoes and belt in addition to not matching very well, are far too casual for a suit IMHO. Also, the hem's a little too Browne. Looks great from the waist up though.

The overall look is quite Italian but the pants for me would be too short and narrow in the width. Dark loafers would look better.

I don't like the affectation with the tie, but I like the outfit otherwise. The shoes, well, I am not fond of loafers, but they work well for him. And I like that the belt and shoes don't match. Excessive matching makes a guy look too fussy, or like someone bought their shoes and belt at the same time, to assemble an "outfit", which imo should happen only for one's first Communion or Bar Mitzvah. Pants are a perfect length for his look. Pants that narrow should be either ankle length or be rucked up, in which case the suit should be super fitted, and on a tall, skinny rocker guy.

Back end longer than front end, on purpose.

Oh, I didn't even notice. I guess the Italians, in possessing that inimitable sprezzatura, must also develop their share irritating affectations. (Heretical though it may be, I'm looking at Agnelli here.)

It looks like his top half is going to a meeting while his bottom half is on holiday. Italian style is hit or miss, here's a miss.

Those shoes are wrong and going sockless with a suit and tie is stupid. Also, it looks like they are in NYC and if the picture is from today, it wasn't warm enough to go sockless, so you can also accuse him of trying too hard. Top half is great but if everyone (Italians) is doing the tie thing, it stops being cool and becomes the same thing as unbuttoned sleeve buttons.

His gorge is way too high, and it looks weird with the shoulders on that jacket. Makes him look like a pinned lab specimen or his suit had one too many facelifts.

I agree with all of the above. How could he get it so wrong? The suit is inelegantly stiff and the shoes more fitting for an off-duty ballerina. Even the tie is as stiff as a piece of cardboard. Let's chip in and send him a pair of socks; the auditions for the new Miami Vice movie have come and gone.
