What do you think of braided leather belts?

Any thoughts? I figure a braided belt is convenient because it can give you a near perfect fit, but I'm curious whether there's any consensus on the look.

I love them. Great with linen pants. They do tend to stretch if over-tightened so wear slighly relaxed from snug is best.
Shoes I'll match with a braided belt are sandals, deck shoes (leather or canvas),tassled kiltie loafers.
Does anyone do suede shoes with these belts?

I happen to love them. I think they look good with chinos /khakis.

They were the craze in 1994. I had one and yes, I remember it stretching out. I think I left it in 1994 though.

If you get them in a better quality there alright but if not then coem off looking a bit sloppy.

That seems to be the problem with them; there are some truly awful cheep'n'cheerful braided belts out there. Boo.

There are some very nice ones too. Those are very worthwhile, I think.
