What do you think of austerity brogue such as the Beaulieu or the Woodcote models?

What are your views on austerity brogue?
Are they formal ,classic or simply boring?

The Warwick is best IMO; don't know if it is available anymore. On the Woodcote, I'm not sure how I feel about the sweeping vamp with a wing and you cannot see it in this picture, but the peak of the wing is very shallow.

I do not own any EG, but a have an older version of Tavistock from CJ handgrade line, which looks similar to Beaulieu

I find this austerity brogue versatile and ellegant. And C&J might be an option for a smaller budget.

Updated Tavistock from the french collection

I do love the Tavistock even if i'm a die-hard Lobb customer...
The last is beautiful ,more elegant than the Warwick or the Woodcote...
I will order a model inspired by the Amiel Lobb bespoke Paris and ask Tony Gaziano to elongate it a little bit...
Austere brogue is an elegant alternative to the more casual looking broguing...
My choice is Amiel and Tavistock....

I don't know, the lines on that shoe only seem to work when the last has a certain shape. There are 2 samples of it at the Lobb boutique in NYC; one looks amazing and the other looks horrible. Also wouldn't Delos be the better choice for that?

+1 for both austerity brogues and the Vass version. Must admit, I'm also a fan of the Beaulieu and the new Tavistock. Lovely shoes and versatile - aren't as rustic as full brogues so I find they are dressed up more easily.

What is it? A full brogue without broguing, a wingtip without broguing?
