waste of money. AE will look better down the line, as everyone above is noting.

A little OT: looking at the site, I learned that Carlos Santana has a perfume line?

Would AE Park Avenue be too dressy for work as a consultant? I was thinking maybe the Colton Oxford or Hillcrest Shoes. Are no lace-up shoes no good for work?

They look like shite. That J&M leather is gone so fast.

The Byron balmoral may be a good choice for you. On close out, I believe. Available in black, brown, chili. Not quite as heavy looking as the Colton blucher.

I'm a consultant and I'll be wearing black Byron's tomorrow (w/ slacks and a shirt). The real reason I have Byron instead of PA is because the PA last kills my feet....but I am happy with the broguing on the cap-toe....it does dress them down a bit.

It depends on what you're wearing them with. Park Avenues are classics with a suit. Colton are a bit less formal. If you like the look of those J&M, try to find some Delrays, Hancock, Slayton or Norse models. A&E has been selling Norse on ebay for $84.

With regard to the Hillcrest, it can be a bit clunky (especially if you need an E width or above). I own a pair that I wear as a dressy casual shoe.
