What do you put in your flask?

I do the same, - really good booze doesn't keep very well in a metal flask, so it would be a waste to use that.

That's why you need a glass flask. I need to find one of these

That's why you need to drink up and refill often! I usually go with something like gold label though.

Agreed. Also, drinking it straight out of the flask is not the best way to enjoy a liquor. It's nice if you can get a rocks glass and pour from the flask but this is not always the case. My flask is currently filled with Johnnie Walker Black Label that I found for cheap.

I hate the American notion of drinking scotch with ice.

so you can carry booze with you without looking like a wino? What do you suggest, a brown paper bag?

Bourbon... Generally Beam as its a pain to get Makers and Bookers here

I think Whiskey is the only acceptable thing to carry in a flask.

Possibly Brandy, but...

Brandy is the classic flasking drink. It's usually either brandy or whiskey for me.

As for the uses of flasks: oh so many. Long train rides made suddenly pleasurable, chilly evening walks home from work made warm, $10 shots of Jameson at ridiculously expensive NYC bars minimized. Flasks are the only winter accessory more useful and stylish than a scarf.

well, first of all, unless you live in utah where there's no bars, what's the point of having a flask on you so it gets all warm. In addition, they barely carry anything so unless you have the tolerance of a puppy, I still don't see the point. I always thought of it as a little hipster trend to try and look bad ass yet old school.

I'm sure all of you benefit from it, but in a place like Montreal where liquor is slightly less accessible as water, carrying around a flask is kind of strange to me. Isn't it annoying having one around too?
