So my girlfriend of 9 months is the love of my life but she is not into expensive / designer brands like I am. When I'm with her I try to take it down a notch because I feel that maybe she feels I'm a better dresser. I would wear a garbage bag and roll with her because that's how confident I am, but still I don't want her to feel any less because she doesn't wear expensive clothes. Don't get me wrong she has style and some of her pieces are bought at high end department stores but she's really not into clothes like I am. It's really not a problem but I want to know if anyone else out there pimps Zegna Jackets while your other half wears J. crew and Banana Republic?

So what's the going rate for a ** from one of your Zegnas?

I don't see the problem. I generally out dress my SO; she might make a comment as we leave and that's the end of it. If your gf doesn't have a problem with it, neither should you.

you should try to make sure she's without clothes as much as possible when she's around you

I seriously wouldn't mind if I am the better dresser. if it's really bothering you, you could buy her stuff to wear then? :)

I do take her shopping but she’s a nurse and works crazy hours so when we have our alone time she prefers jeans and sweats. When we do go out she gets dolled up and these are the few times in between when I get dapper. It doesn't bother me at all that I have a love affair with luxury brands, I like to have good things …I’m only going to live once can you blame me. I guess the "problem", is that I think from her perspective ( I know some of you here are too self absorbed to understand this part) that she might feel inadequate in a way and that she may feel the need to almost want to keep up with me. Women are insecure by nature but I always tell her she looks good. Trust me I've been around girls way too long in life to not know that the girl always has to look better than her man. No woman wants to walk around with people wondering “what is he doing with her”.
