Tailors are looking for a certain line. If you're too muscular, he'd probably tell you you're too big. I doubt it was meant to be offensive, it was an observation.

i cant think of any fat or obese man who looked good in a suit ever. if you can pay for a very nice suit, you can pay for liposuction or a personal trainer and health food chef
