I'd appreciate opinions.

Have they had their day or are they here to stay?

They're nice if you have a longer neck

I got a shirt off ebay that has pointed collars, but they still button underneath. Weird!

I got my first one about a month ago, and think I will start ordering more with double button collars. I`m not a giraffe, but I think the little extra height works with my silouette.

I think they look good unbuttoned, without a tie too...but I rarely go out with that look myself.

On the downside, the extra button is an extra pain to button.

I think they look better than single button collars because of they can stand well because of the height sans a tie

I don't have a long neck, and see absolutely no reason to buy one.

I wish Alex Kabazz would join this thread and tell us his opinion of double buttons, and if he sells them.

In my experience he doesn't shy away from them if you have a neck that needs them. But I don't speak for him.

I like them quite a bit so long as I'm not wearing a tie. Then it's back to a single button.
As far as pushing it, last time I was at NM they had a Turnbull & Asser shirt with triple button cuffs " clearance priced " @ $165.

A complete waste of time. They are on minute 14 of their 15 minutes so better wear them now.

We sell a few shirts every season with a double button collar and double button cuff. The collar stance on these shirts are alittle higher and we choose fabrics that have interesting expression to them, mostly tattersalls,
ginghams and fancies. With the interest to wear suits and sports jackets again to work, we have promoted this affectation to replace the tie which still hasn't found favor to those who have not worn one in awhile.

A double-button collar serves two functions. First, it helps prevent the collar band from rolling over on higher-collar shirts. Second, the second collar button prevents the first from acting as a pivot point, which ensures that the tie space will not vary depending on how tight you tie your tie or your posture at any given moment.
