I love this Ben Silver tie, but I would like some suggestions on what it would look good with, colors and materials.

Thanks.

Personally I think all 'what can I wear with this tie/shirt/suit/jacket/shoes' threads should be banned. There's way too many people asking this kind of thing, and instead of asking this question for every single item in ones closet, these people need to learn the basics of colour and pattern matching, then they wouldn't ever need to ask one of these questions again.

Why the hell does the forum exist in the first place if people aren't allowed to ask basic questions? Where do you draw the line? If you don't care to answer the question, then stay out of the thread. A much more helpful individual will come along and answer the OP's question, and it will save all of us some grief.

I already provided links to information which can help the OP find out for himself what would go with the tie, which is more useful than anything you've posted in this thread. How else do you honestly expect someone to answer the OP's question? Listing every single colour, pattern and fabric of suit, shirt, shoes and pocket-square that would go with...a blue tie?

Actually, I am not some newb who just showed up out of nowhere and asked a dumbass question. I am a newb who has been around for a year and THEN asked a dumbass question. There is a difference.

I own a copy of Flusser's Dressing the Man and I am comfortable with pattern matching. As far as those color wheels available on AAAC, I have studied those things before and I honestly can't make heads or tails of them. I would guess that I am not alone in that respect. I have the ability to put colors together but I tend to stay on a rather narrow path. I respect the abilities of the people who frequent this board and I requested an opinion. That is all.

I'm sure it could be worn with a white shirt and a navy blue or light gray suit, but the color and pattern of the tie is way to "80's" for me. I think it's best to retire it.
