Had dinner at aquavit in NYC last night

Really fantastic. Some highlights for me were the shrimp tart that came as an amuse, the grilled asparagus and langoustine, the rainbow trout with the crispy green floral cracker thing….
And the super awesome little loaf of rye bread that came out halfway through (and of which they sent me away with another loaf to eat at home)

Excuse my bad photos though…the light was such that there were limited options for avoiding a shadow…

And as a solo diner (work trip) they gave me a nice table by the windows so I’d have something to look at.

I was assuming they were gonna plunk me at the little 2-top crammed in a corner by the kitchen…

Never done that fancy of a dinner alone before. It was fine. Maybe the pacing drags a bit without conversation, but it gives you more time to appreciate what you are eating and the frequent small courses are better than like…ordering one big thing at a normal restaurant and then just sitting there waiting for food.
