Beer can go so well with fresh crusty bread and some good cheese. Toss in some cured meats and I'm in heaven.
Sadly, I do not eat bread or drink beer much anymore due to carbs.
Am I actually the only one who doesn't like blue cheese and red smear cheese at all?
I bet people in Belgium/the Netherlands pretty surely drink beer while eating gouda with mustard.
By the way, beer doesn't have that many carbs at all, does it?

i feel like beer goes well with cheese a lot better than wine. something about the carbonation, malts, and hops just makes it a more refreshing choice and complements the meatiness and saltiness of most cheese imo
normal beer has on average 20g carbs for a 12 oz pour.
Its actually less than that.
It's really dependent on the beer. Most porters/stouts have more carbs, but when I put in my calories I just write 20 to be safe.
mebbe i shouldve written at most 20
The more it's filtered the less carbs. I guess.
I got my lucky peach in the mail today. This thing is pretty thick, almost like a book and a quick flip through shows a lot of information. might be the only magazine purchase i've ever made that I won't regret
Little something interesting I read about wine and cheese. 2006 study at UC Davis that basically scientifically refutes evidence that wine and cheese pair well together because cheese nullifies much of the flavor of wine due to the butter fats.
"Here, the authors performed a rigorous study to show that, contrary to what we might have thought, cheese decreases the intensity of most attributes of a red wine, and not the other way around. "
Time for more cheese + beer.
Did you make that pasta? I don't recognize the shape.
Haven't cooked a lobster yet by the way. Still considering.
