Wtf are you talking about? The photos people take make this thread, whether the food looks amazing or not.

I enjoy the photos. Please continue.

Yeah. Not sure what he's talking about. I take all my photo's in natural light, and I don't retouch them, so sometimes they come out better than others; it all really depends on the angle of the sun.

he's messing with the colors/values of the photos a lot after he takes them. you can especially see this in the last meat/veg one.. look at the 'sharpness' of the sauce image

if that's true i apologize, but your last photo looks like it's been through 20 effects in photoshop.

Nope. I just take the pictures and let the food do the talking. If the lighting is very poor, I might increase the exposure in iPhoto. But other than that, I never touch them.

Last night I had a triple baconator, medium fries, cherry coke, and small vanilla frosty...I must say, they really have upgraded the beef patty at Wendys, and are doing a fine good job with the trans fattyness of it.

I then had the distinct urge to puke...which i ultimately did do. I felt much better post-vomit.

Happy 4th of July! That is America for you

Did you eat that after mm's veal shank/little whittled asparagus beads?

Sorry I misread this as "******* stop with the photos". Didn't realize you meant stop editing.

jake, how would you compare mm's turbot plate to the triple baconator, fries, cherry coke, and medium frosty?

Its the color saturation. Its pretty easy to tell if you had seen his original pics when he was MM. All his **** looked purple.

Yeah, the white balance is definitely altered (if not by him then maybe automatically by whatever processing software he uses?). Also looks more saturated and pretty contrasty to me. Page 583 has a couple good comparison photos.

Could be much worse though, and I still enjoy looking at his pictures.

mm said he had this problem with EVERY dish. And I can't think of chopped/minced garlic always being too intense. That's why I said use less.

It very well may be that I was just using too much chopped garlic. But ever since I stopped adding it, and simply infused the oil or butter with a clove or two, the flavors have been much more subtle and pleasant. It was mostly when cooking vegetables, like spinach or chard, that it became overpowering: I'd add only a half of a cloves worth, minced. I don't like my food to taste garlicky; I just like the essence of it.
