It's restaurant week in DC. We went to La Chaumiere in Georgetown. Highly recommended.

    I had

    starter
    quenelle de brochet
    (pike dumplings in lobster sauce)
    which was exquisite

    entree
    saumon marine en croute
(marinated salmon in puff-pastry with champagne-dill sauce)
this was very good if a little too big

    desert
    tarte aux pommes
    very nice finish

This sounds like the diary of a middle-aged man in 1963.

I occasionally channel LabelKing and pretend I'm living in a different era.

I made--and ate--salt and pepper shrimp and steamed white rice. There's something divine about the simplicity of the ingredients. [IMG]

Not to pry, but is this related to why you're selling all your stuff?

I cooked/ate this sirloin burger with cheddar cheese and ketchup. One of the best, juiciest cheeseburgers I've had all summer.
