Had what is known locally as an "ugly steak." It's flap meat. Very juicy, very tender. Steamed some artichokes then dropped them on the grill with the steaks.

I don't like this page so far.

Will check back later.

Oh: wrote that before Piobear posted. That looks good.

Tried out Village Tavern for the first time tonight. Jesus that was a disaster. Took them 1 hour to make three burgers. 20 minutes to make the first 2 and then 40 minutes to make the third because *********** up one of the first. Don't know if I'll bother giving them another try after that.

White vine vinegar. I use quite a lot, maybe halv a litre, use less if you're using truffle vinegar.

Quite a lot, but I guess it is worth a try next time. Not that I make fries that often... Do you also do this for the simple potato boiling or just when makeing fries?

gf fight when it's gf's fault = she buys me dinner and drinks, because she doesn't know how to say sorry until she's had a drink and can chill the **** out. Had some overpriced hotel buffet with a bottle of L.Latour Santernay, then she bought me a bunch of single malts and a partagas after dinner. And she said she was sorry in between, kind of quietly.

Last night I made some delicious braised short ribs and served them over a butternut squash orzo. Paired it with a bottle of '07 Chante-Perdrix chateauneuf du pape.
