I recommend them. I use mine for anything from foie: [IMG] to sauces, scallops, etc. It's just the two of us, so when I get a deal on something like these large racks of meat, I can break them down into meal size portions for us.
Weird, I'm shopping for one of these right now. Which model do you have? I'm looking at this V2440 from BPS for about $100 shipped. The newer/more expensive models all seem to be junk according to reviews on Amazon.

That's the model we have. We got it from CostCo, a couple of years ago, when our old vacuum sealer gave out. It works pretty well, IMO.

    Is this impromptu ventriloquism?

My wife did the honors: "Trust me, I'm kosher."

The thing about piglet teeth is that they are quite human. You almost expect braces.

Have you moved back to Nova Scotia yet? Or Saskcwodhiwwan?

Do you have to use brand specific bags?

Same as you, I'd like to stock up on good meat and seafood to avoid running around to the butcher / fishmonger / etc or having expensive meat go off...

We went with a V2840 a few years back and have used it reliably ever since.

Now you just need a decent labelmaker. [IMG]

I'm afraid this won't help you: we buy whatever those bags are CostCo sells (a big warehouse retailer in the US).

I've used bags from other brands - no problemo. mostly I've bought the big rolls and made my own bags.

And kwilk: the labelmaker is for the perfumez.
