1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Home made desiree potato gnocchi with two blue and goats cheese in a reduced cream sauce with garlic and black pepper.

Mixed green salad lemon and EV olive oil dressing.

Washed down with The Laughing Magpie, Shiaz Viognier from McLarne Vale a favourite of Mrs GF and mine.

Then Mrs GF Granny Smith and Rasberry crumble. Perfect winter fare and all of this with 4 hours of rugby.

All is bliss all is bliss I am dancing at the feet of my lord.

Had dinner at Trois Mec in Mid City LA. This was the dish of the night: dungeness crab, grapefruit and gelatinized ceviche, topped with avocado. Would go again.

Beaujoulais wine, fois gras with toast, and caviar d'aubergine. Just snacks, made for a perfect meal. :D

you need more game. if you'd had each of those things pureed, set with gel, slow-dried and then cut into a paisley shape and plated with a skidmark of sauce, then that would be worth posting. :foo:
(seriously, sounds absolutely delicious and frighteningly normal).

Swiss chard/tamarinde/chickpea stew the past few days (yesterday I added some chorizo, also very good). Will cook some shakshuka now.

Mushroom risotto with Shiitake and Swiss Browns made the stock today, with a mixed green salad and lemon delicious pudding with whipped cream for desert. Washing the risotto down with a Tasmanian Stoney Rise Pinot Noir and a bottle of Ninth Island in case the football gets interesting.

Can you explain WTF is going on here? As far as I can tell, you went to a sit-down restaurant and got punked into ordering mealworm tacos. You were so grossed out you could only eat the guacamole off the top with your fork. And then they replaced your mealworm tacos with anchovy tacos, but they made you keep your dirty fork.

They were maguey worm tacos, then minnow tacos. Both are at least relatively popular in Mexico, and I trusted the restaurant I was at wouldn't put them on the menu if they weren't good. Neither had very much flavor honestly, they were both fried. I liked the minnows better. And I was eating at tacos at a bar, I didn't really care about replacing the silverware between courses.
