I think in the last couple of years the image of Streetwear has changed a lot. For some from good to bad and the other way around. I'm just curious what pops up in your head when you think about Streetwear.

Would be cool if you just answer right away without much thinking.

The most exhausted modern "street" look is the hoodie + jeans + sneakers look.

Argh! It's like . . . out of all the sweaters . . . out of all the jackets and coats in the world . . . you couldn't find anything other than a hoodie to wear?

Yes, I have a couple hoodies myself, a thick one for "rugged" use, wearing to the gym on chilly days which will soak up sweat post workout. Or for camping or moving furniture or anything that will cause me to sweat or get dirty in some fashion.
And one thin, fitted, clean, double zip hoodie for layering under jackets / coats.

But really, enough with the hoodies. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!

I think we need a new name for the forum and generally a better way to refer to less formal dress. If you're not wearing a suit or business casual or slacks, you're more in this forum. Does the word "Men's Casual" fit this more?

I think very few regulars in this side of SF wear "streetwear" in the typical sense (urban/hiphop).

I think of it more as either skater-influenced or punk-rock type gear.

NYC streetwear = Hipster x skater x punk.

LA streetwear = HipHop x hundreds x bathing ape x all over print x highlighter color x (insert all else here)

Tokyo streetwear = well... really, what don't they do?

Atlanta streetwear = true religion x seven x ben sherman x modern amusement

I think of superfuture, which basically equates to bathing ape, dunks, extremely tacky prints on t's, hoodie's, shoes, etc.

Really gaudy, lame ****.

Well, I guess I'm guilty as charged. I have difficulty imagining something other than a hoodie meshing with my own personal aesthetic. Maybe a leather biker jacket, but right now that's not feasible.

I also wear graphic teees/dunks/&c. Take it whence it comes.

I do think I have a good eye for combining pieces, though- that, rather than the sophistication of the pieces themselves, is where any arguable sense of style I have comes in.

I get a slightly different concept than most of the SFers. I'd say more Rye and less GS. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of Rye's gear I think he's closer to the 'street' vibe - and I think many will agree. Or not. Either way.
