What colour shirts and ties to team up with OLIVE suit??

I've been racking my brains to figure out what colours of shirts and ties (regardless of patterns) to wear with a solid-coloured olive suit. Sure, I know earth tones work well . . . but how about something other than earth tones?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

I would go with a white shirt and ties in the purple, maroon color. I think that purple is the best color with olive.

I have an olive suit. I wear it with a white shirt and a splattered pattern silk tie which has the same colour olive in it along with blue and fuchsia.

Darker colors work best. My suit is more of a green/olive suit. It's not easy to wear the color often, but I've found that black shoes and a dark tie is the best way to go. The suit is the focus of color, everything else should be neutral including the PS, and shirt.

This is how I personally would wear it

Shirts: apart from the obvious (white), blue or possibly lilac.

Ties: Dark silk tie, either paisley or with small white dots; or one in woven wool or cashmere, solid or patterned.

By the way, what shoes will you be wearing with the suit?

I'd never have considered lilac or perhaps even pink--but the more I think about it, the more I like it.

I found this picture . . .

. . . though my own suit is a darker (solid) olive, I think a pink shirt and black knit tie would look really good.

Shoes? Most like black suede chukkas or brown suede chukkas.

Olive is just yellow but very desaturated. Oranges, yellows, and blues can work with olive.
