Ok, so I am basically a "suit virgin" per say...hahah...only time I ever have worn suits is prom and occasional parties or fancy outings.

So, I need a suit for a presentation and I do not think a black suit with black tie will work, haha.

What are suggested colors for suits for a presentation?

Would a dark grey suit with black tie work?

Or should I use a darker blue? Not sure if it matters, but my hair is black so die that affect suit color? :p

Any suits work well with tan pants? What color tie with tan?

I would prefer a darker suit but in not sure if it would be appropriate.

Lasteky, do white shoes work with suits at all? I want to keep a little casual as this is a presentation for my degree.

Thanks in advance :D

Go with a navy blue suit and no white shoes.

A suit is a jacket and trousers, possibly also a waistcoat, made of the same cloth. You wouldn't wear the jacket with separate trousers. You are thinking of a sport coat or a blazer (same thing really, except a blazer is typically Navy, with gold or MOP buttons).

Is this a school presentation? Work? Something else?

Depending on the nature of the presentation, you might get away with getting a decent blazer and wearing it with khaki pants, good shoes. Either a Navy or dark gray suit would be acceptable. If you are going to start working on a wardrobe, I would think about a Navy blazer, a dark gray suit, and then follow that with a navy suit.
