What color socks with brown boots?

What color socks go with brown boats? Does the regular black and grey go or do I need something different like navy blue?

Skip the black altogether. Some guys match their trou, some match their shoe, some pull a color from elsewhere in the outfit, some don't match anything at all.

The sock color depends more on the color of the trouser than the shoe. I like having a small pattern in my socks and like it when the minor color is the same as the shoe. Navy suit, brown shoes, navy socks with a small brown dot.

I like flesh tone with short, dark vertical lines, about a half-inch long. Especially if the lines are slightly wavy.
