What color shoes would you wear w/ this suit/tie combo?

New to this forum and to dressing nicely in general. This is one of my favorite suits. Do you think brown shoes would be possible here?

Also what alternative color tie/pocket square could I go with there? I would love to add some yellow...

Thanks for the helpful comments! What about going w/ brown shoes? What color tie/pocket square combo do you like?

For a more formal evening event I'd still go with black shoes. For daytime wear or for more casual events, brown shoes are fine, though I would recommend dark brown instead of light brown/'walnut' shoes. The pocket square should complement the outfit without matching any one part of it too closely. Try a plain white linen pocket square when in doubt.

That suit's a nice color. I vote black, but dark brown like burgundy could work too.

If you wear shiny silk ties with that suit-
nothing wrong with the tie, stick with black.
If you go with understated small pattern or
solid tie you can wear dark brown. This is not
"rule". It is just my sense of what works.

Welcome! Nice suit! Here’s some tips. :teach:

1. Never use a matching tie / pocket square set. They’re terribly naff and shout K-mart.
2. The trousers need to be shortened and even slimmer ASAP. As is, they look horribly sloppy, and that’s not the look you want to project.
3. Shiny ties at night only, never in the daytime.
4. Dark brown shoes are always wonderful, except with a tuxedo.
5. Yellow is very difficult to pull off, but try getting a silk pocket square with yellow and blue, such as http://www.kentwang.com/the-starry-night.html# Or https://www.erwinpearl.com/collections/van-gogh-scarfs-and-pocket-squares/products/van-gogh-sun-flowers-silk-pocket-square-14-x-14
