Medium gray would seem a sensible option with the black and purple.
I'm wearing medium brown chinos with a winter-weight black cotton jacket to the office today, but I'm not sure how the brown would work with the purple.

I love the contrast of purple and brown/gold but really hate brown with black. Its a personal preference thing but i'd go with grey.
