I just got a pair of AE park avenues in merlot and I want to wear them to a job interview i have this week. What color belt should I wear with them?

Ok, I won't just say "burgundy"...

When I buy shoes that are different than just black or brown, I also get a belt that will match. Look for a belt that has a reddish burgundy look...doesn't have to match the shoe color perfectly, but should be on the same color scale. Burgundy color belts are easy to find at any decent shop.

I have one burgundy belt that I wear with all my different shades of burgundy shoes. It's not a perfect match for every burgundy shoe I have, but it's close enough.

The two important things to match are the color and luster.

It is possible to find another burgundy-ish colored belt that may work well provided that the luster (or shiny-ness) is appropriate.

For example, I have seen someone attempt to wear burgundy colored shoes with an almost burgundy colored belt. In this case it did not work because the belt was shiny and the shoes were matte and it immediately drew attention to the fact that the two did not coordinate.
