What causes this type of fold in a shirt?

Please do not even waste time posting any unhelpful comments relating to 'burn this shirt' or 'the fit is horrible' or anything unrelated to the main issue at hand; it's literally pointless, will not be followed or considered and is generally not even what I'm interested in discussing at this moment.

There are two issues with this shirt that I am interested in learning what the cause is, as it appears on many shirts that I own; that is,

- Puckering behind collar
- Slight, horizontal fold across one half of my chest

Anyone know what causes either?

Thanks!

Not a tailor or anything but if I had to guess the front fold is bc of your neck being forward and the back is bc of square shoulders. I have similar issues. Life goes on.

That shirt is simply not a good cut for your shoulders.

Here is a picture of how a shirt fits well:

505707978_2_TopBack

Note how much further down the back yoke should hit and note that the front of the yoke follows the shoulder line, while on your shirt, the front of the yoke looks like it's trying, unsuccessfully, to pull your shoulders back. My guess is that the issue is that, regardless of the squareness of your shoulders, they roll forward, a fairly common issue with men (mine do, lots of exercise and not nearly as much stretching), and this creates a tension against the fabric.

Thanks; what would you suggest the fix be to tell my tailor?

Honestly unlikely a tailor can fix it without major surgery verging on the cost of the shirt.

The idea is to tell the tailor adjustments to make to my order, to correct for the issues on new shirts.

If the person making your shirts doesn’t know how to adjust fit issues, you have the wrong person making your shirts.

Ok. Genuinely don't understand where the lack of comprehension comes from on this forum or why it's only this forum with members who have so much free time on their hands to continuously post unhelpful and genuinely random replies.

This is for my own knowledge, which is why I'm posting on a forum where people may have had experience with the issue previously or are a tailor themselves. My tailor is out of town and as you know, there are often many causes to why this would happen.

I really don't need unhelpful random replies, literally just save yourself the time and go be more productive actually helping someone.

I believe the answer has been explained. You’re shoulders roll forward. A good shirt maker can fix this. It would also help the appearance, if you’d starch the shirt.

I don't need it "fixed", I need to know what adjustment to make on future orders.

The issue is not "forward shoulders"; that is a posture-related issue and is easily corrected when manually extending your shoulders backward in their natural position. I do this, and the issue is still persistent.
