I tried to find a thread with Q & A for men's wear tailoring, if you know such one exists please let me know and I will move this topic there.

Long story for short:

I bought a jacket online but when I tried it on, there is an obvious problem with the shoulder

I will let the pics speak....

What causes the problem and is it expensive to tailor it?

Hard to say without seeing better photos, but those look like shoulder divots, which are often a result of the shoulders being too narrow. You can sometimes fix this by letting the jacket out along the center back seam, but it's best to talk to a professional tailor.

Thank you a lot for your input! the link is really cool! IT IS DIVOTS!!the shoulder measurement seems the same with my other well-fit jacket, so yeah, I might bring it to a tailor shop after the holiday!

Happy new year!

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
