What can I do when USPS misdelivers?

I've been dutifully tracking a B&S purchase from overseas through USPS and was eagerly expecting it to be delivered today. Lo and behold, tracking shows it was delivered this morning ... but it's not here. (Headscratch) I double checked the tracking and it shows delivered but - surprise!- to a neighboring zip code.

I did some google map searching to see if there was a similar street in that zip thinking I could swing by and if I saw it on a porch, talk with the owner, but there's nothing even close.

So, I'm kind of stuck and worried that it might get returned all the way back across the pond. I don't see a way on USPS to say "Hey! That's my order, send it over here!" (and, yes, can imagine the abuse if there was such a thing). Other than visit my local USPS on Monday to plead my case, are there any other options?

Sadly, I think all you can do is to wait until Monday and go to the local USPS. I also recommend you shoot off a note to the shipper informing them of the misdelivery.

I had something similar happen. Shipper had transposed some digits on my address. But it ended up being a non-existent address.
I saw an "address doesn't exist" or something similar on the tracking page. I was able to go to the local post office and they managed to find it and I was able to pick it up later that day. It probably helped that this was on a weekday.

Update: somehow the package found it's way to my door late tonight. Odd, but whatever.

And, bonus- I'm thrilled with my purchase! :slayer:

Go to your local post office and speak to someone about it. Make sure to print out the tracking info that you mentioned so that they don't try to give you the run-around. If they can't make it right, then file a complaint, and wait for a new member to sign up and start a "suit fit" thread in your suit.

Pretty good snark for a member of, oh, 1 month. Or is that a sock that I smell?
