    nice.
westbourne is a pretty model. im looking in the future to get a Vass captoe in that similar design with the 'U'-shaped stitch around the eyelets rather than the typical 'cross-quarters' seam (?) you find in most models like that.

too bad you cannot get that one at plal.

I don't see the Westbourne model on the C&J website or on PLAL. Does anyone know where this can be purchased other than the C&J boutique? Thanks.

Isn't that the same shoe as the one sold as the "Albany" by Ben Silver?

The Albany is a Handgrade model and we've been arguing over whether it's on the 337 last or the 348 last.

The Westbourne is regular line and definitely on the 348 last.

Has anyone had any luck locating the Westbourne outside of Crockett and Jones stores? I was in T&A in NYC today and found them for $525 + Tax. I know Plal doesn't stock these. I love the shoe but can't seem to find it at a lower price. I really do like the last. For those of you who have the 348 last how do you like the Hallam or the Croydon? I didn't get a chance to try these on. I really do like the last since I have smallish feet ~6.5E in english size.

    Thanks for the help!

The Hallam is a beautiful shoe. Drummond too.

Croydon is a quite different sort of shoe, being a double-soled blucher and hence more casual than any of the above. I'm not sure I've seen it in the flesh.

I actually went with the Westbournes. I love them, except I am afraid to shine them again.

The color is amazing when I first bought them. The lady in NYC said to shine them with C&J dark brown shoe polish wax. I did and I almost feel like they came out a tint darker. I shined them again, tonight, a second time and I feel like they are a little darker again. It seems also that certain parts of the shoe pick up more of the polish than others, giving it a sort of antique look. Is this normal for these shoes?

Has anyone experienced a problem with polishing them? For those of you with the westbournes, what shoe polish do you use?

Besides the color concern, I really enjoying these shoes. My first pair of C&J's, of many more to come I am sure.

Congrats on the shoe purchase. [IMG]

C&J told me to use their tan polish on my pair, but I alternate between dark brown and tan. The colour does darken a little bit whenever I use the dark brown and, because the polish flakes off at the creases after wearing, you can see the colour difference (particularly between the vamp and toecap).

Using tan polish exclusively will probably avoid this problem, but I quite like the antique kinda look.

I bought mine a month ago, and I'm very happy with them too. The lady told me to shine them with neutral or dark brown, or neutral in most parts and dark brown in others. I used neutral. I polished the cap toe and the hill more and I got an antique look.

Btw, I think the color on these shoes is amazing. The picture doesn't do them justice.

I can't get the original shine with polish tho. I tried the mirror glass method but to no avail.
