This is a good explanation.
For RTW suits, Corneliani.
what's the price range for Corneliani suits?
The idea that this forum hates a particular brand confers entirely too much importance to the idea of a brand.
Brands are just short-hand for quality, construction, aesthetics, design etc. Styleforum, as a group, prefers brands which stand more for quality and construction, with conservative design and aesthetics, than other, more fashion-forward brands.
Styleforum may "hate" the design, quality, etc. of a particular company because it doesn't fit with the groupthink of this forum. I doubt that if the brand changed to be more in line with the personal tastes of this forum, people on the forum would continue hating it.
^ Interesting point.
Brooks Brothers - shirts, ties, suits, blazers, coats
Hart Schaffner Marx - suits
Nordstrom - dress shirts
Allen Edmonds - shoes
LL Bean - shirts, khakis, shoes
Stetson - hats
Vineyard Vines - polo shirts, casual pants
Nike - workout clothes and shoes
Isaia, Oxxford Type A - RTW suits and sports coats
Crockett & Jones, Alden, Carmina - Shoes
Sam Hober - Ties
Panta, Howard Yount - pants
Asyla - Scotch
Jhane Barnes is all right but it's no Calvin Klein Jeans or US Polo Assn
If you like Versace then you might want to check out: Etro, Robert Graham, Theory and Tom Ford... All a bit over-priced in SF-opinion due to the higher quality one could have wearing an SF-approved brand at equal price, but if you want a certain look sometimes you have to pay extra...
I usually buy things I like and they're almost always Chinese made. They may not be 'SF approved' or go with the 'SF groupthink' but ...
I think the brand hate comes from an impression that quality takes a back seat to slick marketing campaigns. This can be true, but that's not to say you're wrong for buying a piece of clothing that you like and fits you well. I myself have a fair number of Boss shirts, and I was fine with that until I discovered that I can buy a NWT Isaia shirt for a comparable price. Thank you B&S forum!
Imma just wear what I like and what I think it hot and say fuck everyone else. no offense.
Im so tempted to sig this.
actually its all depend on your style and preference
if you are fashion forward go for Z Zegna,Gucci, Prada or Emporio Armani..
if u are a gent go for Giorgio Armani ,Ermenegildo Zegna or Hermes
i personally like the slim cutting of Prada and Z Zegna... if I were to get a new suit it would definitely go for either 1 of them..
^ I saw this thread had a reply from you and I could not wait to get here - but thats a way different answer than I thought I would see.... Im impressed.
If you are mostly into Versace and Jhane Barnes then by all means stick with it. In your eyes if it ain't broke don't fix it.
