brooks and asics are my top two. Can't go wrong with either. Great support if you find a decent model

Asics Gel Kayano 15's I got on sale.

I've been meaning to hit the local New Balance store though for a proper fitting. I plan on getting more serious with my running, and I think it's best I get the right shoes (cushion vs. stability?).

i research and I found that the lightest Asics shoes are the asics gel-speedstar series. Does anyone have any experience in them?

Lighter isn't always better - also take into account how many miles you are clocking a week. I made the mistake of over-training in a pair of saucony grid sinisters and ended up getting sore feet. I still run short races in a lighter less supportive shoe, but train wearing a basic running shoe - in my case Saucony Progrid Triumph 7's.

trying the asics kayanos. before that the 2000 series.

for me, making the switch to asics from nike/new balance made a world of difference.

Asics makes several racing flats that are significantly lighter than the speedstars.
