i know many of you have very sophisticated foot wear, but i was wondering what do you wear when you go out to bars/lounges/clubs, where your foot wear could easily be damaged. do you have a special pair of beater shoes that you wear specifically to non-black tie events? or do you just wear your john lobbs, etc., and hope for the best.

I'm always looking to upgrade my shoe collection, but i can't fathom even wearing my ferragamos to a bar where somebody likely will spill bear on them.

Thanks!

I think considering the state of some of the local clubs floors where I am, I would only ever wear a pair of trainers (cheap) as its hard to justify wearing a pair of nice shoes when they are going to get seriously ruined!

I don't change so yeah, sometimes trainers, sometimes nice dress shoes, sometimes fashiony boots.

When it's cold and I have to wear socks I generally mix it up between ferragamo loafers, gucci loafers and converse chuck-T high tops with a few other shoes making the odd appearance (Santoni, Marc Nason, etc...). In the summer I wear driving shoes out almost every night (Tod's mainly but a few other brands as well). If the loafers get too beat up a good cobbler can generally clean them up and get them looking good again. The driving shoes get killed but they wear out quick enough anyway.

I wore some loafers to a foam party at a club not long ago - not something planned, just turned out that way - they got coated in foam and cheap beer/alcopops but with some elbow grease and some polish there was no difference. I have found polished leather shoes to be pretty robust to this kind of thing, although steer clear of moshing fat chicks.
That said if I had Lobbs I would probably not subject them to the same sort of treatment.

Since I usually wear dark denim when I go out, my footwear is more a function of what goes with jeans than what will be exposed to the perils of spilled beer/drunk girl vomit (which ALMOST happened to me this weekend...my cat like reflexes saved mah shooz)

Anywho, I usually wear some bluchers (AE Troy, AE Bel Air) or on Friday I wore my suede double monks (AE Mora) or C&J suede Westfields

But vox may have convinced me, I may need to check out a pair of flipper stilettos.

I buy my shoes to be worn and I refuse to be seen by the public poorly dressed. I guess I just wear one of the older pairs.

I usually wear an older pair.

Or RM Williams boots. They can take abuse and shine up.
