I'm wanting to buy my first pair of boots and hope to wear them on casual days in the office and on the weekend with jeans. She'll or calf? What color is the most versatile?

Alden Indys, Wolverine (they have a few models) and Trickers would all work. Not a fan of shell myself but lots of folks here love them. There is no difference in level of formality between shell and calf though chromexel is a little more casual looking.

I think brown is the most versatile color for a shoe or boot.

Red Wings would work. Would say they are slightly more casual than the others I mentioned.

Alden shell wingtip boots or plain-toe boots.

In addition to everything said above, a good pair of Chukka/Desert boots.

RW GTs are much too chunky and work-boot like.

The Wolverine 1000 miles boots are more chinos friendly.

Beyond that, though Trickers and AE Daltons are probably the best choices, not to mention a classic chukka like AE Malverns or Rancourt's new blake chukkas.

Dark brown is the most versatile color. Size is EEE? Well, that will narrow things down. What is the line of work?

OP is from Alberta - Red Wings are practically dress shoes here :satisfied:

Knowing whether you work downtown in office or in a more casual environment would help
