What boots are these?

Got a cool Steve McQueen book for xmas and am trying to figure out what kind of boots or shoes these are:

Are they some sort of chukka?

Yes, like a rich bum on a really expensive motorcycle...now any idea what shoes those are?

They look like canvas with rubber soles, ankle high....I know I've seen other pics of them somewhere, just can't place it.

You're a good guy though so i think i might know. They almost look like beat up pallidum boots. Color is close, and the canvas upper with rubber sole and the way the toe has the bit of rubber seems about right.

They're cheap. Can find them on sale or ebay occasionally for a real good price. Alternate designs used by old french legion military and israeli army. Classic shoe.
