Hi, what are peoples preferences regarding belts for summer trousers i.e. linen or chino trousers? I recently bought a canvas/leather mix belt and found the leather element too heavy and a bit too formal for casual wear, it also caught the heat.

Anyone recommend just elastic style belts s a summer alternative?

Ribbob belts are good for the summer and stretch belts wich can be found all over the net. I have a few Tomy Bahama belts for the summer that work well.

Navy scout belt with silver buckle. Best 3 bucks I've ever spent.

My local TJ Maxx/Marshalls had some nice PRL D-ring belts on sale for around $20 (regularly $75 it said)

They looked like they would be nice for casual wear [IMG]

I don't see why leather is too formal for chinos or linen trousers. I think it's a nice look, even for casual wear.

I never found leather being too formal for chinos. Distressed leather or braided leather works great.
