personally I like a thick brown leather belt with brass hardware. I usally wear one of the old jean shop ones (new ones aren't as nice). I've seen some nice vintage belts that are really simple and utilitarian, I'd recommend looking for something like that as retail belts can be $$

tanner belt, not "narrow" but amazing belt, i love it. 1.5" buckle looks really shotty and cheap, but it's real heavy and nice. I'm a real buckle snob...and this is fine for me

$58 shipped, each one hand cut and you can customize it, I got a leather belt keeper insted, and you can choose your own waist, etc. it's just nice to know its handmade in the USA. I bought a coach men's jeans belt thats fucking made in china..errr

So what do you guys replace your buckles with? I have a corter leather belt which has the tanner style buckle and I replaced it with ebay quick release buckles. However they suck quality wise and one of them snapped in half on me, and I'm not even wearing them tight.

Tanner FTW. Get your true size...I think they account for all that.

Filson belt. Nothing too fancy but it will hold up for a while.
