Two checking accounts. One local to where I live and one with Citi since they have locations all over the world.

Noob question about banking, does it work if you try to deposit a check into your local bank account with a Citi bank teller?

has wamu always been teller-free? i used a wamu the other day and some guy in an open space ran my deposit on a small cc-like machine. i had to grab cash from a separate machine.

some are some arent. Most in the city are, out in suburbia they are like any other bank. I prefer punching my code in the machine, I feel like Ive won money.

seems too casual/ghetto for a bank. i found it very odd. why do they have employees, then? perhaps why they were going under. that or the bad bankers ad campaign (i worked on it)

Wachovia. I really like them. I hope the sale doesn't screw them up too badly.

Well, to be honest, I don't know. The small local bank is convenient and provides relatively good service if I need something. There are a few folks in there that know me by first name, etc.

I deposit checks in whichever bank is available, in the account at that bank. At home, it goes local. On the road, it goes Citi. Then I can electronically transfer funds to whichever account I need to use.
