It's tempting to send a BoO shirt to Jantzen and see if they can replicate the fit. I've thought about sending mine, since I got it at such a discount, but I would still hate to lose it. Does Jantzen take the shirt apart when you send them a sample, or do they just look at/measure it intact?

I don't see why they'd have to take it apart. I've been thinking about doing the same thing to my houndstooth troglodyte shirt, but it's hard to part with it for any length of time.

the BoO fit isnt anything special, it's just well measured for a certain body type.

most 20" chest, 18" stomach, 19" hem with 8.5" armhole shirt is gonna fit just like BoO. aint no magic in its construction y'alls

This past weekend I picked up a Ben Sherman shirt that I really like at Nordstrom Rack. Its 100% cotton (unlike a lot of Ben Sherman stuff), solid color (although the fabric weave gives it a nice pattern and weight), just the right length so that it can be worn tucked or untucked, and for me the fit is great. It even came with extra collar stays. Unfortunately they only had one color available in my Neck/Sleeve size

my problem with LV, Gucci, etc. button down shirts from the "luxe" euro brands is....i dunno they're hard to pull off, they come off as a bit too exaggerated. It's one thing if you're livin la vida loca Euro style...i dunno a lot of them strike me as a bit stiff. I prefer the more relaxed, deconstructed styles...like the Margiela you mentioned; that's probably why I tend to favor the Japanese when it comes to shirting. Being Asian myself, I've yet to see an asian pull off LV properly.
