H&M Pasadena is ridiculously busy on the weekends yet. I'm not fond of the one in Santa Anita, it seems really ghetto compared to the Pasadena one. Haven't been to the Bev Center one...

actually they're more of a reddish color, somewhat akin to allen edmonds chilli, the lighting in that photo doesn't do them justice... either way I like to mix it up a bit, black shoes and black suits are so 'safe' to me (unless they're some really nice black shoes which alas I do not currently have)

May I ask how your luck has been with this brand in general?

I have two pairs of their shoes and have been disappointed in them both. The laces would fray, the leather crach and the sole would detach.

I am considering giving them another chance though... What is your opinion?

maybe I've been lucky but I've had really good luck with J&M. I also have a pair of saddle shoes and penny loafers. My saddles esp have been worn hard and I've had them for 7 years and they are still going strong. I had a comparable styled Allen Edmonds pair and those fell apart far sooner than my J&M.

this captoe brogue I'm wearing I found used, but they were obviously well taken care of (former owner used heel taps), are full grain leather, and amazingly comfortable.

But overall I'm not a big fan of current J&M (90% of it seems crap), but there are a few offerings that I think look/made pretty nice. And imo their high end line is better styled than Allen Edmonds. It's def hit/miss
