    Oh, I get it. We all look the same, right?

    No. But in that picture he looks like Kent.

    I suppose at a time the leading class in Vietnam--or Annam as it used to be known--were Chinese since the nation was a tributary state of Imperial China all the way until the early 20th century.

    Not necessary. Among the 7 or 8 royal families that reigned over Vietnam going back to 1100s that I can remember off the top of my head, not one is associated with Chinese root. Then again, I can be wrong. People of "Chinese" origin can be of so many different ethnicities/ tribes..

    @metkirk [IMG] Texas.

    @polyrock yeah, putting Korean into the mix is kinda stretching it, but I have many Vietnamese friends who often get mistaken for Chinese/Korean/Japanese and vice versa; I just stopped trying to tell people's origin..

    Ahem. In an attempt to change/bury the subject at hand, really nice sweater, BWE - is that a shawl collar, or a rolled zip collar? Where'd you score it?

    Also, VM, I'm a little late with this, but that's a damn fine look you've got there; I'm usually anti tucking anything into jeans, let alone a shirt and a sweater, but you really make it work here. And those Corpus are still pretty damn dark for five months - how much wear did they get a week, on average? Any close-up pics of the boots?
    Actually the sweater vest wasn't worn tucked in, it just happened to be somehow in the photo. It is pretty short, hits just under the belt, so perfect length IMO. I wore the Corpus for 4-5 days a week on average, and they had their first wash last week. Cold water, Woolite soap, inside out. Drip-dried.

    I thought this also before scrolling down and seeing Brian's post. Although I am white so I'm not sure if this opinion matters.

    Fake Edit: I do have a lot of Asian friends though.

    It's a zip collar wool/cashmere sweater I got as a gift a year or two ago from Banana Republic. It's a medium, and far too large on me. I'm actually wearing a hoodie underneath it.

    Seriously, works great as a layering piece, especially with that red (?) hoodie underneath - great late fall kinda look. Like they say, it's all in the presentation...

    Heh heh... Banana Republic is only a dirty word at full retail price. I'm not going to complain though since it was a gift.

    It's a black hoodie, but you can't see much of it. What you're probably seeing is the red/black houndstooth scarf tucked under the sweater.

    i layer sometimes with basic BR, Gap, AA underneath as long as the fit and color is right. Nothing wrong with that.

    Oh; I thought that was a scarf I was seeing - I got a little confused. Regardless, looks good. And dd, I do to. I usually shy away from patterned stuff that can be readily identified with any of the chain stores, but I realize by next season everyone's forgotten anyway.
