Looks nice outside. Think I'll join you. I assume Chicago and Jacksonville have pretty similar forecasts today.

Point of discussion: to what extent has the "dying star logo" been co-opted by Joy Division (by using it as the cover of Unknown Pleasures)? I love the symbol, but I'm not a JD fan (She Wants Revenge does it better [IMG]), so I'm not sure whether I should wear it. (I've seen it used in other places, but never where it was clear it wasn't a JD homage.)

"she wants revenge does it better"? are you kidding? thats like saying the strokes do late 70's new york better than television. joy division started that shit almost 30 years ago! s.w.r. wouldnt even exist. if you are not a fan of jd do everyone a favor and dont wear the shirt. go find a she wants revenge shirt. that image would be completely unknown if bernard sumner hadnt showed it to peter saville. its always a jd homage.

Yeah, it wasn't bad. I went out geocaching and ran into this little shack in the woods w/some sweet newspaper walls and various amenities made from bicycle parts. Went back later and the homeless guy who lived there was there. It was fun.

    Word.

Thanks for the comments on the fits, everyone.

What are the boots in your first pic, and what kind of jeans in both pics?

Boots are ebayed combat boots, beyond that I know basically nothing about them. There are pictures earlier in this thread, I think, or possibly in another one--Arethusa asked me the same thing at some point. Jeans in the first two pics are my RRDS which I had tailored to remove the bootcut. Jeans in the last pic are the Levis 514 dry that I started a thread about, which is probably pretty far down the page by now.

What kind of collar does that shirt have?

It's a pretty wide spread collar. I actually like the way it looks unbuttoned, which isn't always true for all spread collars.

I'd like to know who makes the v-neck as well. I have the same MJ vans- do you find that the leather seems particularly cheap and tough? Maybe I just got a tough pair, but I do like the way they look; it's going to take time for me to get used to wearing white sneaks though.

The v-neck is H&M. The leather on my Vans seems decent but not great; sort of normal for (non high-end) sneakers. It took me a little while to get used to white kicks too, but now I love them. Plus you can wear them with almost anything, as long as the outfit's casual enough.

x666x, perfect listening choice for Halloween. [IMG] I just got "In The Flat Field" stuck in my head.

i have no idea who "she wants revenge" is, but i'm skeeeered.

i heard my 13-year-old niece playing fallout boy's cover of "love will tear us apart", so i played her the original; at the time, she seemed non-plussed, but later she conveyed me a message through the grapevine that "joy division rocks"-------and she dyed her hair black.

love bauhaus. listened to THE CURE's Faith on the way to work. great record for this time o' year.

um. nice fits on this page and last.

I figured on listening to Pornography in its entirety later on. And then trying not to slit my wrists (seriously, between The Figurehead and One Hundred Years...). Good times. [IMG]

Sauce - Gotta agree with Jason, badass. What are the boots in your first pic, and what kind of jeans in both pics?

Yeah, I'd like to know the boots too. They're awesome.

    Sauce,

Excellent looks! I really like this last one. One thing I have noticed about your outfits is your excellent ability to mix contrasting colors. I love the simplicity of your look with still being able to have great visual interest.

What is that jacket and hoodie(?) that you are wearing? I like that dark trim down the front. It works great with the vans!
