Mat’s awesome. Perrin is also a bad-ass. Rand is definitely the Zeppo of the group.
And since you're done, if I haven't mentioned before, I can't recommend the Murderbot series highly enough.

So I've reached a point of a few straight chapters of Perrin.
This is the other thing I'm super sick of.
Every single person he's around, you have to know what he smells about them. Over and over again. Sometimes multiple times with the same person in the same conversation.

Skimming through the autobiography of Stella Rimington, first female Director-General of MI5 and I believe the first holder of that post openly identified as such during their tenure.
It’s pretty meh, but some of the depictions of the service when she was starting out and it was a clubby, antiquated place are amusing.

I'm in book 11:

“Suddenly she smiled, too, a smile that never reached her eyes.”

Excerpt From: Robert Jordan. “Knife of Dreams.” Apple Books.

Fantastic book - well written with a great sense of dry humor in many places.

Started a few weeks back. It's about the Nigerian civil war from an expatriate's perspective. It's not a page turner so forcing myself to work through a chapter every night I read it (1-2 nights a week).

I just started reading The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. The book follows the irregular, poverty-stricken upbringing of Jeannette and her siblings, who were deeply confronted by their dysfunctional parents. Jeanette has faced numerous obstacles throughout her life. Despite many obstacles, she remains strong. Recently I read here some information about the hidden meanings of this book and I was really interested in the issue of abuse of parents towards their children, which is very clearly revealed in this book.

Just finished Fall: The Mysterious Life and Death of Robert Maxwell a very good and quick read.
Lunch time reading at the moment is In Black & White By Donald McRae about the lives of Joe Louis and Jesse Owens. I'm considering rereading Endurance by Alfred Lansing one of my all time favourite reads. Watching the The Terror has put me in the mood for some polar tales.
