Insane read. Setting aside the horror of what transpired, it almost reads like conspiracy theory. Picked it up after revisiting The Act it Killing.

Do you like pirate stories in general? Sabbatini's "Captain Blood" is a great swashbuckling novel. So much fun to read.

Not in particular - about ten years ago I read Pirate Latitudes by Michael Crichton and enjoyed it so thought I’d revisit that subject in a nonfiction way.
