Not Mailer but considering it, read The Patriarch by David Nasaw about JPK after listening to interview with him. JFK would **** anything that moved just like Daddy!

The RL program is scheduled for the 19th on National Geographic in Oz. Did you watch JFK the Smoking Gun? Interesting proposition on the ballistic evidence for the kill shot, how plausible is another matter.

Interesting that tragedy of JFK has cast such a long shadow over 20th Century History.

Perhaps because plausibility of a million theories, as above, can be questioned, or supported.

Compelling nonetheless.

Ford Madox Ford - The Good Soldier. About a third of the way through it. Ford was a very engaging writer and an interesting person in general. He's sort of a type of writer that doesn't really exist anymore but used to be very common in the first half of the 20th century.

Also picked up Master and Commander by Patrick O'Brian and Flashman by George Fraser. Particularly looking forward to the second but both are the beginnings of series that I had been meaning to get into for a long while.

Watched part of it, I think from other things I have read that they got Oswald's character down pat and gives insight into what an oxygen thief he was. Otherwise your right the program was a lame duck, there is a documentary on Friday 22/11 on TV JKF One PM central standard time which looks interesting. The blurb states "In an age before information moved instantaneously, Walter Cronkite knew he had to get the call right when he made the announcement, "President Kennedy died at one p.m., central standard time." This documentary presents the chaos in Cronkite's newsroom leading up to this moment."

This is one of my favorite books, read it during my Impressionist exposure. He and Joseph Conrad wrote a book called the Inheritors about people from a 4th dimension that "inherit" wealth and power through coercion.

Just finished A Visit from the Goon Squad. I liked it, but I don't know if it was the revelatory novel it was hyped to me. asynchronous storytelling has been around for a bit and while her character development was good, was it enough for the genuflecting at Egan's feet?

Reports of how innovative or postmodern it was might have been overstated, but that's not her fault. I think she just set out to write a really engrossing narrative, and she did (and in a way that was very deft, but not showy at all). I liked it. Plus, that scene about the fisherman finally understanding the power of a crisp white shirt.
