    3/4 through The Inner Circle, kind of stalled out around page 300 or so, and has just picked up again. Boyle's Kinsey is now developing a sense of paranoia and I'm starting to look for a biography for comparison purposes.

    Also, 50 pages in on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Very, very readable.

    Halfway through Master and Commander by Patrick O'Brian. I'm excited to know that there are 20 books to follow in this series. So good.

    ^ i just reread that this year; so much tension in that book i hope you are reading the Pevear/Volokhonsky translation connie it was my first time reading their translation and it was grand i regret that they chose "caftan" over "coat" in one instance but that is a niggling complaint

    Yes, chose Pevear over Garnett at the urging of some SF/non-SF people.
