when i was a kid learning guitar i was totally flummoxed by how he was doing all of this, at some point i realized (staring at the pics lol) he was using a thumbpick, the capo was another giveaway. from there it was easy to figure out his tunings and get a sense of that remarkable right hand approach... and i was down teh rabbithole. here are a couple of faves:

Any time I hear songs from Love by the Cult, I'm transported to 1986, the Orpheum Theater in Boston. One of my first shows in the city as a group naive teenagers without a chaperone. I lost $40 playing Three Card Monte. I just knew I could get the next time.
