Perhaps only the late, grate Harold Falcon would have gotten my meta-joke here. I played the Jam's version because the joke was I cannot even play the best version of 'David Watts,' ergo I'll never, ever be David Watts. I knew you were itching to play this track, or a track a lot like it, by your reference to class in one of your prior poasts, which doubtless the full import of eluded the American audience, but did not escape old GE here.

But then you went ahead and played the exact James' track and the exact video I had planned to poast several weeks ago and did not in a hazy, forgetful moment. Interesting that you read me so cold. Also generous you didn't out word play me, because anybody who spends too much time in America loses all ability for word play, even in other languages.

Thank you.

Storytellers extraordinaire;

[Pavement]

Alas, I could not find the clip on Zevon from Larry Sander's on YouTube, NOW I cannot find the Pavement one. Anyway, not sure if you kids are young enough to remember, but when Pavement did those free shows in central park it was a huge annoyance because I don't go to shows unless I know the band, and everybody fuckable in NYC was at that show. But the shows were early so it didn't really matter and everyone was in a real good mood because people inexplicably love Pavement. It was the summer, and at that time of my life, SUMMER NIGHTS WERE HOTTT.

This song is about a gay gay ********** with a girl while the protagonist, a gay man, pines for him. ******* brilliant:

Somebody once told this song was about gay sex but that doesn't make any sense given the lyrics. Still a great song:
