Chris Rea. Often wondered why he never really made it big in the USA.

Tell Chris for me that it's because:

#1) He makes references that the American audience don't get.

#2) His vocals lack character.

#3) When Americans have people who are equal or greater than an Englishman, the win goes to the American based on home field advantage. Real American games are winner take all. I love America.

I couldn't get through that last Rea song. But that isn't Texas. This is Texas, amiright @beargonefisting & @Texasmade? I love Texas.

How about a bit of British R&B to perk you up? Canvey Islands finest:

This is poasting at it's ******* FINEST. It references one of my musical selections, encapsulates my musical taste and sensibility, puts me down in an ostensibly mild but actually savage way that only real Englishmen know how, and intuitively grasps my REAL LIFE CONNECTION TO THIS SONG1111

The punters at Riley's would play this on the speakers every time I used to walk in for a game of snooker. ******* proper nutters.

One of the DJs at Hotel Vegas in Austin would play this beause they knew I loved this track (TELL TEH BOYS THIS MEANS THEY'VE MADE IT IN THE US OF A)

EVERYBODY KNOWS THIS SONG IS ME. and

@derum single-hanedly bridged the american and english divide that Shaw was on about all thse years ago. @derum 4 life motherfuckers. Consider me perked.

This is the song I think of mainly when it comes to Lee Hazelwood is Summer Wine, his duet with Nancy Sinatra.

Then again I like the remake as much if not more and the girl, Natalia Avelon, is serious eye candy. This was from a movie she was was in portraying a model who used to date Keith Richards.

Ben Vaughn's version of Sundown is nice...
