I don't have rye so i am using woodford. I also don't have the right slightly aged rum (in fact I have no lightly aged rum which is surprising tbh) so I put in some Chairman's Reserve.

This is good. I also got some really good fresh pineapple juice today so i am enjoying things. This drink is making me enjoy life.
Continuing the Chairman’s Reserve run - the Master’s Selection (store picks) are amazing. They have a bunch of different stills (Coffey, John Dore, Vendome, etc) so there is a huge variety of flavors).

This is a 50% column/50% pot still (Coffey/John Dore), aged 9 years and chosen by K&L, made into a Rum ‘Negroni’ (subbed 1/4 of the vermouth for falernum)

Wine seems easier tonight somehow. And everything Palacios does is amazing. I've never had his top-tier wine, but this $35 Priorat always delivers.

Homebrewed Rose Hip Mead

This has been bottle conditioning for more than 1.5 months now. It actually came out pleasantly good for a first effort. I’ll have to use more rose hips next time to give it more wild rose flavor. As noted before, I gathered the rose hips in the fall.

Haven’t had that particular Clement and look forward to your take on it. I’m not much of a fan of their VSOP, but dig the Canne Bleue

I recently had a Clement at a friend's that blew their VSOP out of the water though I forget which. Any feelings on the Chairman's reserve? I picked up a bottle buy have not cracked.

Anyway, a whisky cocktail that is intended to be the spritous mirror of the Blood & Sand. Since scotch doesn't really play well with others in cocktails I call it The Detente.

1.5 oz whisky
O.5 oz orange inflected amaro
O.5 oz Cherry Heering
O.5 oz Italian Vermouth
O.25 oz dry curacao
Cherry bitters.
