Not sure if you are a gin guy, but on my last trip I randomly stepped into a slightly seedy bar and made friends with the bartenders and they let me taste the four gins by Akayane and I was very impressed. I haven’t looked too hard but I imagine they would be much cheaper there.
Love gin--yes they have a range of good gins easily available. I wonder how much of this is just a yen to travel again.

Which ones should I stock up on over there when I go back?

Now I am drinking Colibre Lager. It tastes like a good Mexican-style lager. Good malt to it but still easydrinking in a good way.
Pretty much anything by Nikka (from the barrel/yoichi/miyagikyo/taketsuru) or Suntory (Yamazaki/Hakashu/Hibiki). Ichiro’s is good as well

Funnily enough, get Blantons (straight from the barrel or gold). They’re about 1/3 of the US price - if you can find them (and about $300 cheaper than US secondary prices)

Four Pillars in any of its incarnations is worth a look. Australia has been going through a gin renaissance for the past few years.

A lot of variety in terms of taste and botanicals and classic London dry varieties.

Not Australian but gong to pick up a bottle of Tanqueray 10 for the Xmas New Year period.

Went to a craft beer bar yesterday for first time since the pandemic - had three tap craft beers local stuff

Beer # 2, the glass is Heineken but the beer is thankfully not - some citrus'y IPA.

and some fruity sour to polish things off

Very good!

Atmosphere - hole in the wall kind of place

And seeing as this here is a style forum, right? - dropping my beer drinking fit of the day, be warned though, not quite Hall of fame (HOF) material )

I'll take the IPA, not a fan of Sour's, why the hell would I want spoiled beer? Some marketing genius turned a **** load of beer that went bad into a new style.
There is so much wrong with this post.
